Run of Groove Tonemender

3 Jun 202611 Jan 2017 by chords
ROG Tonemender c0df4a1a693a

Got a request for this one. It’s a nice boost with a 3-band EQ. Pots are board mounted and it will fit in a 1590B sideways (ala Zvex pedals) with the circuit board vertical. From the Run Off Groove article: The Tonemender is a very flexible, yet simple clean boost with a 3-knob tonestack that … Read more

BearFoot FX Sea Blue EQ

BearFoot Sea Blue EQ 1ca9145aeae6

Here’s a cool EQ/booster from Bjorn Juhl. If pushed hard, it will break up much like a tube EQ would, and adds warmth and clarity to your tone. It uses 2 JFETs and a James style tone stack.

Madbean Bloviator

Madbean Bloviator 59d77cfd2025

Madbean simplification of Bajaman’s “Sonic Stump”. As you can see, you’ll need at least 1590B to box this. If you want the same circuit in a smaller A-box, you should check out Madbean’s PCBs.

Madbean Spackler

Madbean Spackler fixed c0c7d3fe13ee

Another discontinued Madbean PCB, this time for his modded Demeter Fat Control. Info about the project: The Spackler is a modified version of the Demeter® Fat Control™. The effect is a midrange boost that will push the front end of an amplifier while boosting the lower-mid frequency range resulting in what some might call added … Read more

2, 4 & 8 Band Gyrator EQ

3 Jun 20263 May 2014 by chords
4 Band EQ 0f34badc0b0b

Moving on from the HM2 which obviously has quite a powerful EQ, I thought I could use the circuit to make a handy standalone EQ.  I was going to just use a quad opamp and make this 2 band with 2 of the channels being used as the input buffer and output gain stage, but … Read more

EWS Bass Mid Control

EWS Bass Mid Control d225d393830e

Originally in a 1590A size box, this may be a struggle to get in although I’m sure Javi will find a way :o) The original used a dual concentric pot for the Boost/Cut and Frequency controls, but I think they are almost certainly going to be special order as one side is 50K reverse log … Read more

BMP Tonestack w/ LPB1

3 Jun 20262 Aug 2013 by chords
BMP Tonestack w LPB1 972d5d43b309

I’ve noticed a recurring request on how to add tone control to layout x (where x = any layout without tone control). So i thought that i’d draw up a simple addon board for simple Big Muff Pi tone control, so that anyone can take it after any board’s output. But as many of the … Read more

Dan Armstrong Purple Peaker

Dan Armstrong Purple Peaker c33873947c62

Another addition to Dan Armstrong library, The Purple Peaker treble booster. This layout is using two SPDT switches instead of the original setup. You could get closer to the original with using 2PDT, taking the ground to pins 2 & 5, Lo wire to pins 1 & 3, and finally Hi to pin 5 – … Read more
