J. Rockett Boing Reverb
Got a request for this one and we can always do with more reverb. It’s a simple one-knob BTDR-2 based circuit and should fit easily in a 1590B. Reverb brick and pot is populated on the solder side. Schematic for reference.

There’s no getting around it, through hole components have long been on the way out and being replaced by SMD. I’ve had several clients I do board design work for either going full SMD or at least a hybrid with SMD for resistors and a few other components, and TH for caps. This RAT layout … Read more
Happy Fuzz Friday, all. Somehow in 10 years of laying out fuzzes, I’ve never done this one. Here’s the Roland (pre-Boss) AF-60 BeeGee fuzz. Originals use semiconductors you probably don’t have in your parts stash, but nothing in mojo territory, so modern equivalents will work just as well. Fairly simple circuit with a couple transistor … Read more
For Fuzz Friday here’s the Roger Mayer Axis Fuzz redone with board mounted pots. Schematic for reference. Didn’t make a drill template for this one, but the pots are 1.2″ apart and should be an east fit in a 1590B.
New Year, might make Modulation Monday a thing. We’ll see. Anyway, here’s the EQD Hummingbird V2. It’s derived from the Vox Repeat Percussion and now updated to use the 2N6027 in place of the obsolete 2N2646. There’s also a couple other improvements from the earlier version so a new layout seemed like a good idea. … Read more
This one was recently traced on FSB and as i have a soft spot for Devi & Dwarfcraft circuits alone and together, i had to draw it up.. A bit like original Soda Meiser, or at least some revisions of it, but this time with a Chaos switch and a Drone-knob.
Happy holidays! We hope you have a good one! …and there’s number of unverified layouts for you to try out this holiday season! Like this one..
Next up from Dylan159’s Unreleased Circuits is the Blendy Buffoon. We’ve had a bunch of different blend/mix/loop designs up already, but this idea was still missing. Some may have stumbled upon an issue where you couldn’t use a basic blend circuit with the likes of Marshall Bluesbreaker or MXR Dynacomp. That issue is due to … Read more
I’ll be posting a few circuits from Dylan159’s Unreleased Ciruits. There was the Fuzz Facelift posted earlier and i’ll continue with more of these goodies. Next up: Troupple boost. Gamers might get the reference. This came out from my wish for a simple, clean treble boost that could work from a variety of supply voltages … Read more
Second post for today is the Overdrive from Manfred’s trace (at FSB). This comes from the same series as it’s distortion brother (see the earlier Vesta Fire Distortion post), but the design is slightly more obscure. Still, the inverting input filter path to ground gain pot method on a non-inverting gain stage is used. However, … Read more
