The Aria Super Fuzz Sustainer is a variant on the Big Muff, probably based on the Elk Sustainar as it shares the same values mostly (based on a Triangle BMP). The tone stack is a bit different, and it’s clearly missing a recovery stage at the end, not unlike a Colorsound Supa Tone Bender. Unusual to see the 6n8 … Read more
Happy 2022, everyone! Here’s a buffer/booster from Fulltone. Engaged it’s a booster with an interesting controllable germanium soft clipping setup, and when bypassed the diodes and gain control are shorted, creating a buffer. If you’re just after the boost and want to skip the buffered bypass, just ignore the two Bypass pads and wire it … Read more
The Benson Preamp is pretty popular, but 2M pots are hard to find. This is a modded vero layout using a 1M bass pot. To make this change and keep the same frequency response, resistances are halved, capacitance is doubled. Note that the Drive pot value also had to be halved. I’ll add a regular size … Read more
Another interesting circuit design by ROG; using a hex invrter to emulate a Tubescreamer Schematic and a writeup is avaiable HERE. Note that the resistor labelled “X” in the schematic is replaced by a 500k trimpot so you dial in the right amount of clean signal. Set it at around 100k for single coils, 220k … Read more
Quite an interesting little treble booster from ROG for Vox toanz. Schematic and a writeup is avaiable HERE.
Not much info on the manufacturer of this one but I believe it was made by TC Electronics. Note that I have seprated the the Instrument/Line level section into a daughterboard. Simply to to have the option to leave it out and cram the main board into a smaller enclosure… Schematic is avaiable HERE. … Read more
