Per request.A quite a big revision of this circuit was made a couple of years ago making it a worthwhile addition to the blog. The general topology remains almost the same but lots of component values have been updated. Trimpots is added for easier biasing. Schematic is avaiable HERE.

The Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop is one of my favourite overdrives, although I am yet to try this version. There’s some subtle difference to version one, and it has a tone control, similar to the Millennium version. I think the most significant difference is the change to the output buffer. Per request. Note that the values for the treble cut capacitors is nor confirmed (10nF and 22nF) so it might be worth socketing these values. Also, I replaced the Drain resistors with trimpots for easier biasing for the J FETs.
