Now this is an interesting take on the Boss HM-2 circuit… The schematic speaks for itself.

Now this is an interesting take on the Boss HM-2 circuit… The schematic speaks for itself.
For those who don’t want the whole Spires circuit with all the offboard wiring comes two separate öayouts for each channel. The red channel is a modified silicon fuzz face with some additional filtering and a fuzz control at the input. MPS3704 transistors seems to be not that common but a quick equivalent search reveals … Read more
Layout based on the old version from the 70s. Note that this one is really picky about op amp selection so be prepared for some socketing…
I admit that I did a layout for this soleily based on the name…😏 This is one those really cheap 80s distortions that sounds harsh, compressed and trebly. But it might be worth modding towards something decent? The clippers can be subbed for LEDs for some headroom, both 47pF caps can be inreased to shave … Read more
Chuck D. Bones take on one of Björn Juhl’s designs, a hot rodded Honey Bee. Lots of tweaks all over the place so it probably differ quite a bit compared to the original circuit. I subbed the hard to source clipping diodes for NPN transistors to match the voltage drop and knee. Regular 1N4148s will … Read more
Another very interesing by Chuck D. Bones over at the PedalPCB forum. The inspiration comes from some of Catalinbreads overdrive and fuzz designs but adds a lot of refinement amd tweakability.. Schematic is avaiable HERE.
