Here’s a simplified Tube Screamer circuit from Run Off Groove, the Tube Reamer. Basically, it’s a buffer-less TS without the tone control. The IC can be just about any dual op-amp. JRC4558 or TL072 are good places to start. Should be a great candidate for a 1590a build. For more info, schematic, and demo see … Read more
If for some reason you haven’t gotten hip to the Mod Kits DIY pedals and amps, I’m happy to be the one who brings you this very cool like no other little company. Perhaps you’ve been living under a rock? No matter you know now… consider yourself in the cool kids circle. Mod Kits … Read more
Got a request to make a layout for this schematic, and it turns out it’s the BYOC Reverb 2. You can use 9mm pots and board mount them from the component side if you like. There are a few jumpers, though one of them (the one by the lower IC) can be eliminated if you … Read more
Here’s today’s #FuzzFriday contribution: the Supersonic Fuzz Gun by DBA. This one can be a bit finicky, so don’t try this one if it’s your first time. Check out the thread on FreeStompboxes for help with any troubleshooting. I’ve laid it out for on board pots, and you could orient the board vertically (or at … Read more
Yesterday, Ronaldo commented on the Power Brick post pleading for a voltage doubler using the 555 chip. Well, since it sounded like it was an emergency, here you go. 😉 D1-2 should be barrier Schottky diodes and don’t forget the jumper under the IC.
Taken from Black Arts website. In all of it’s throwback glory, the Black Sheep. Dirty, mean spirited and a blast to hang around with. You can’t help but feeling a bit dirty when you plug in. Essentially it’s a modded BeeBaa with an input cap selector like you see on the Black Arts Black Forest. … Read more
Here’s a little utility board that could come in handy. It uses a MAX1044 or ICL7660 to convert +9v to both +18v and -9v. It’s essentially the charge pump from the Klon Centaur. I’ve added a 10v zenner (1N4740) diode to protect the IC, but that’s optional.
Awhile ago I saw someone asking adding an +18V inverter to a board and the differences it made in some pedals, as well as what they need to do and worry about. Since there are more then a few people who have added an +18V inverter on a switch so they can switch between +9V … Read more
Back in the saddle with another fantastic build from the good people at Heavy Electronics. I tried for quite some time to get in contact with this very busy cool company, and when I finally did connect with them they were kind enough to shoot out a handful of their awesome pedals. We did a … Read more
